Bully Boy Hunter

My dog Hunter looks like he will eat you up if you are a stranger, he looks aggressive! But with me he is so loving and attached to me it's pathetic. But he's my baby, and I love him dearly. Bottom left picture shows Hunter with my lab Dakota who passed away last July. I used everything in the book on this one: inking, distressinge etc etc. There is some symbolism in the lo...the barbed wire fence which I made with wire, the metal findings and torn up page reflect Hunter's Hyde side, the lace, flowers and key to my heart show how utterly loving he really is (His Jykell side). Military Ball

I had fun with this one. This was the military ball at North Georgia Military College in 1968. Pictured is my brother and his wife, who were married the year before. The symbolism is "The Journey Awakens the Soul" refers to the journey they were starting, and the clock lets them look back at their journey over the years. I tied the bow, the first one I ever got right!

Practicing...more commonly called "The Rehearsal"

Another layout of my niece's wedding rehearsal. It was a beautiful, and fun, and funny rehearsal. The dinner afterwards at the Foxfire Restaurant was delicious!!

Sad news! I've just been laid off my job. I was caught totally off guard. I really loved that job but now maybe I can retire. I'm seriously thinking about it.

On the other hand I have a few new layouts to upload. May get time tomorrow or Monday to do it, so stay tuned! Hope everyone had a wonderful NSBD today. I did!!!!

Family Get-Together

We had a "mini" family reunion this past Saturday and Sunday. My niece-in-law and baby June came into town for a visit over the weekend, and all of us gathered at my brother's house for visiting and eating. My sister-in-law is the best cook in town, so of course we stuffed ourselves. My niece and her two children Ivy and Zac were there, and I found Zac and June in the living room reading by themselves and couldn't resist taking these pictures. They are so cute!!

Mother, My Friend

This is a layout of my mother; the photo was taken in 1947. I used a variety of techniques on this layout. I put an transparency frame over the photo to highlight it. I used Tim Holtz distressing inks over the background cardstock, used rub-on sentiments and images, and a lot of chipboard elements for a collage effect. The heart at the upper right was painted with gold paint then embellies with some flourishes, flower and butterfly. This won 2nd place at the county fair FAMILY CATEGORY last fall, 2008. Thanks for looking!

ME

Scrapbooking is my obsession, ask anyone who knows me!! This is a layout about ME! It was made for an online challenge, and also won 1st place at the county fair in the Miscellaneous Catagory last fall 2008. I like a lot of techniques, and used distressing, inking, stamping, tags, rub-ons and sewing to name a few. Thanks for looking!
